The Contemporary Art Of Stacking Decorative Floor Pillows And Cushions

Floor pillows and floor cushions have been a part of interior decoration since ages. They not only enrich the aesthetics of a room but also enhance the comfort quotient. Though what has transformed since ages is the style to place them. The assortment in terms of number, size and design are the key factors which differentiates one style from another.   Here we bring for you a few tips to employ these elements in a contemporary way.

Place them biggest to smallest, from back to front.  Strategically placing them ensures that their design and fabric is perfectly highlighted.  Ideally you have to place about five to seven pillows and cushions together, but using different colors and sizes is the key in creating arresting variation and interest. In a contemporary pattern the bigger ones placed at the back are endowed with solid fabric where as the smaller two in front are of experimental and creative mood. This contrast arrangement strikes a perfect balance between bold and subdued alongside imparting a welcoming ambience to your room.

Another contrasting way is to place the colorful square floor cushion diagonally at the back rest while the bigger one, in somber shades partially hides it. This gives a luxurious feel without a sense of over doing.
